The relationship of bone marrow fibrosis at diagnosis with prognosis and survival in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia

Objectives: Our aim in this study is to investigate the effect of fibrosis at diagnosis on treatment and survival childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Methods: This retrospective. We evaluated relationship between patients' age, white blood cell count diagnosis, morphological blast percentage flow cytometric day 15th 33th, absolute peripheral smear 8th, degree bone marrow biopsy 36 pediatric patients. The thirty-third after induction therapy was measured. Results: Twenty-eight (77.8%) cases were diagnosed B-ALL 8 T-ALL (22.2%). There no statistically significant difference groups with without terms any parameter measured time 8th day, 33th day. No found according overall (OS): mean OS 50.22 ± 5.44 months group 49.70 3.96 non-fibrosis (p = 0.557). Conclusions: a high detection rate ALL diagnosis. Nevertheless, does not affect survival.
